GTLE – Stift Schlägl

Stift Schlägl has been the spiritual and cultural center of the Upper Mühlviertel for over 800 years. In close symbiosis with the region, it combines pastoral duties with economic responsibility as well as cultural and social impulses. Preserving the historical heritage while simultaneously adapting to modern requirements represents a central challenge.

As part of a measure to improve accessibility, a platform stair lift was installed to provide access to the priests’ chambers. The objective was to enable people with reduced mobility to have safe and comfortable access while fully preserving the listed historic building fabric. A GTLE-type platform stair lift was used.

Visually, the lift blends harmoniously into the historic surroundings thanks to its finish in RAL 7047 Telegrey and a slip-resistant surface in RAL 7016. The track is made of stainless steel and is complemented by a 180° parking curve and coated columns. In addition, a wireless wall-switch with key was installed. Alternatively, a folding seat in RAL 7016 and stainless steel with a hand control on a spiral cable is available.

With this project, Stift Schlägl makes an important contribution to the inclusive use of its premises and underscores its commitment to responsibly combining tradition with modern technology.
