Coming soon: GTLD
The new GTLD platform stairlift: The optimal solution for narrow or complex staircases from –10° to +47°.

Ganser Liftsysteme will officially present the new GTLD at Interlift in Nuremberg, taking place from October 14 to 17, 2025. Orders can be placed starting July 2025.
The new GTLD platform stairlift, an upgrade of the GTLE, isdesigned for indoor and outdoor use and is the ideal solution for narrow or complex staircases driving from –10° to +47°.
MAXIMUM SPACE, EVEN ON NARROW STAIRS
The GTLD is based on the GTLE model introduced in 2022, which quickly became one of the most sought-after solutions in its segment and a bestseller for Ganser Liftsysteme. The clear advantage over competitors is the unified technology for both straight and curved stairs, which significantly simplifies inventory and service operations.
The aim of the upgrade was to provide the largest possible platform area even with minimal space. When folded, the platform requires only 240 mm of wall clearance, making both the GTLD and GTLE among the most compact lifts in their class. At the same time, the simple installation without extensive structural modifications sets a new standard enabled by Ganser Liftsysteme.
MODERN, TIMELESS, WITH NEW DRIVE ANGLE
While the GTLE can operate between 0° and 50°, the new GTLD expands the range significantly: now also capable of negative travel up to –10°. Additionally, the powerful drive concept allows travel distances over 40 meters. The upper guide rail not only serves as a handrail but also stabilizes the lift system.
The new GTLD offers many advantages: user- and installer-friendly, modern and timeless in design, and built for long-term durability.

FAQs - GTLD Platform stairlift
- Where does the name GTLD come from?
GTLD stands for GanserTreppenLiftDuo – named after the two rails necessary for drive and stability.
- What does a rail angle of -10° allow?
A negative rail angle of up to -10° enables a direct landing outside the staircase run. The lift climbs past the last step, switches to a descending motion, and lands at the stop.
- Will the GTLE still be available?
Yes, the GTLE remains available as a proven solution. The GTLD is a technical upgrade that shares many components with the GTLE – enabling more efficient spare parts management.
- Is the GTL30 being discontinued?
No. The GTL30 remains part of the product range because it supports special solutions like negative curves, cabins, or customized structures.
- What is the function of the rack on the upper rail?
It provides additional stability. The rounded teeth design prevents any risk of injury. Due to its height and ergonomic shape, the upper rail also serves as a full-fledged handrail replacement.
- What if there is little space before the first step?
The GTLD offers several solutions:
- Steep approach (+47°) to save space
- Motorized front ramp
- Downhill roll-off board
These features can be combined to accommodate longer platforms even in tight spaces.
- Are the weight or dimensions of electric wheelchairs a problem?
No. Both GTLE and GTLD support up to 300 kg as standard and offer platform sizes up to 900 x 1250 mm.
- Can the lift be used as a mobility aid without a wheelchair?
Yes. With a folding seat, the lift can also be used by non-wheelchair users – for support while climbing stairs or transporting groceries, for example.
- Can the lift be used as a freight lift?
Yes, all GTL models can be configured for goods transport. For loads over 300 kg, we recommend the GTL20 with a larger platform and reinforced lift unit.
